While there is no one answer for each woman, many women have chosen to undergo a Breast Lift procedure to restore their breasts to a more youthful appearance. During a Breast Lift procedure an incision- the size and shape of which will be specifically determined depending on the amount of lift necessary – is made around the areola area. The areola and nipple are typically left intact to their original blood supply and nerves. The excess skin which is sagging is removed and the breast is re-positioned higher. The areola is also generally repositioned higher to match the newly positioned breasts. In some cases the areola may also be re-shaped or re-sized, then the remaining skin is closed around the areola creating perkier, more youthful and firmer breasts.
