Meet Sugar Land Plastic Surgeon Dr. Liza S. Kim

As one of the few female plastic surgeons in the area, Dr. Liza S. Kim brings her extensive training/experience and a woman’s perspective to cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Sugar Land. Dr. Kim strives to bring a comprehensive, fulfilling and pleasant experience to each patient towards achieving their “complete-self” again.

“Beauty is defined by the individual. My goal as your plastic surgeon is to work with you to help you feel complete and beautiful. For each and every procedure I perform, whether it is breast reconstruction or facial rejuvenation surgery, there are many options and techniques. I do not believe that one technique is better than any other, nor that one-size fits all. I give my full commitment to work with each patient to individualize a surgical plan that fits that individual’s goals and lifestyle. I believe that this is best done through a team effort, and I will work with you to come up with the option that best fits you. As your plastic surgeon, I hope to relay this confidence and comfort to you and proceed in the safest and most satisfying way for you.”

Dr. Kim completed her undergraduate degree from University of California, Los Angeles and obtained her M.D. from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kim completed a highly coveted integrated residency training program in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery at Ohio State University. With a keen interest in breast surgery, she completed an additional fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. While at Harvard, she honed her skills in advanced techniques in breast reconstruction and cosmetic plastic surgery. With a strong focus in breast cancer, Dr. Kim served as a contributor in an upcoming textbook entitled “Current Multidisciplinary Oncology-Breast Cancer.” As a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School, she was actively involved with educating Harvard Medical School’s residents and medical students in cosmetic plastic surgery including organizing educational programs for nonsurgical cosmetic treatments like Botox and Juvederm fillers.

Growing up with a parent serving in the armed forces, Dr. Kim has been exposed to variety of cultures. She is thus very comfortable working people of various cultures and addressing their unique situations. Given today’s diverse community, this gives her an advantage in understanding the wants and the needs of her patients. Dr. Kim was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and spent most of her youth between Seoul, Korea and the cities surrounding Washington, D.C. One of her interests, among others, is Asian cosmetic surgery. Having completed training in Seoul, South Korea, considered by many as the mecca of asian cosmetic surgery, she has an in-depth understanding of the Asian patient’s desires and definition of beauty. In addition, she is bilingual, fluent in Korean.
