Fraxel Laser Skin Rejuvenation Featured on Today Show
Last week, NBC’s Today Show aired a skin makeovers segment featuring the Fraxel Restore laser procedure.
The segment profiled four women who underwent various skin rejuvenation procedures, including Fraxel laser treatment, to improve their skin tone, and New York City dermatologist Dr. Anne Chapas explained the benefits of Fraxel Restore and other skin treatments to Today Show host Meredith Vieira.
The segment starts by highlighting Jill, a 43-year-old skin cancer patient, who underwent Fraxel Restore to correct some severe sun damage she developed as a result of childhood sun exposure to her fair skin. Dr. Chapas explained that Fraxel Restore successfully rejuvenated Jill’s skin and repaired her sun damage by stimulating new skin cell growth.
“It really got rid of so much of the sun damage that I could see. It just makes me feel like I have fresh, new skin,” Jill said, obviously happy with her Fraxel results.
Lisa, a 46-year-old woman of color who underwent Fraxel laser treatment for skin discoloration and uneven pigmentation caused by health issues and breakouts, also described what she achieved with Fraxel treatment.
“I think having cleaner, brighter, more luminescent skin would just make me walk a little bit taller. Emotionally I think it would be a big boost for me,” Lisa said.
Dr. Chapas informed viewers about Fraxel Restore recovery, indicating that a few days of redness and dryness may occur after treatment. She also indicated that for best results, Fraxel Restore may need to be performed in a series of one to three treatments, depending on the needs of your skin.
