IPL with Lumeca Houston

Some believe that sun damage ages us faster than wrinkles. We believe you should never have to worry about either! One of the most rewarding and cost-effective treatments we offer is IPL (intense pulsed light) with Lumecca, a powerful and proven technology for treating pigmentation and redness.

IPL is most often used to treat the face, neck, chest, and hands, but can safely treat any sun-damaged area on the body. Sun damage, broken capillaries, and rosacea can be eliminated in 1-3 treatments with little to no downtime. The treatment is quick and reveals a clear and even complexion within days.

How much does IPL cost in Houston?

The typical price of a single IPL treatment starts at around $350. The cost is dependent on the area we’re treating, and if any other procedures are combined with IPL as part of your treatment plan. We’re happy to share price ranges over the phone and will go over how the cost is calculated in detail prior to treatment.

Hands: $300 per treatment or 3 sessions for $750

Full Face: $350 per treatment or 3 sessions for $900

Face & Neck: $400 per treatment or 3 sessions for $1050

With IPL treatment and all services we offer at Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, we’re committed to educating our patients about every detail before you come to the office, including the costs.

We also offer easy financing options to help make your procedure even more affordable. If you have a CareCredit card, remember you can use that for IPL too!

How many IPL treatments will I need to see results?

One IPL treatment with Lumecca will be extremely rewarding and effective, however, a series of up to 3 treatments is often recommended. Treatment recommendations will be provided during your consultation or first appointment.

How long does a Lumecca IPL treatment take?

IPL treatments can be completed in as little as 45 minutes but vary depending upon what areas are being treated and other procedures may be combined in your treatment.

Does IPL hurt?

IPL treatments are not painful, however, there are tender areas (like near the nose) that will feel less comfortable. The good news is treatment is quick and there is no lingering discomfort. Most patients describe it as a close-range rubber band snap.

How long does it take to recover from IPL and see the final results?

IPL has no downtime, and you can apply makeup following treatment. You may initially notice a darkening of pigmentation following treatment as IPL draws the pigment to the surface. From the face, it will slough off naturally within a few days (treatments on chest and body areas may take a bit longer to exfoliate). Within 7-10 days, you can expect to see your final results from the treatment.

How long will my IPL results last?

IPL results are lasting. IPL treatment draws pigment out of the skin and is removed through natural exfoliation. We recommend the use of SPF and good skincare products to support and protect your skin following treatment. You may choose to have a maintenance treatment every few years if you begin to see sun damage or vascular imperfections resurface.

Are there any alternatives to IPL with Lumecca?

Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery selected InMode technology and the Lumecca IPL procedure because of its efficacy in providing beautiful results for pigmentation and vascular concerns. IPL is the most efficient and cost-effective treatment to address pigment. It is important to avoid tanning and direct sun exposure prior to your treatment. If you are tan or have darker skin, we may make other treatment recommendations, such as Fractora laser or chemical peels. During your initial consultation, we will help you determine a treatment plan that is right for you.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We are often able to take same-day appointments, especially if you are a repeat patient and call early in the day. New patients need a little more time for consultation, but don’t hesitate to call 713-799-2278 and inquire about appointment availability as we are often able to schedule IPL consultations and treatments for the same day or the next day.
