Why Consider Chin Augmentation?
Men often consider chin implants to address a “weak” or receding chin that blends into your neck and may make other facial features look out of proportion. If you are concerned about the appearance of your chin and wish you had a stronger jawline, chin augmentation may be right for you.

How Much Does a Chin Implant Cost in Houston?
The cost of chin augmentation in Houston varies depending on the plastic surgeon and practice. Your total costs will include facility fees, the cost of anesthesia and your pre-op and post-op appointments. At Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, we offer frequent special promotions for chin implants. We also offer a variety of plastic surgery financing options to make your procedure as affordable as possible.
Your Chin Augmentation Options
During your consultation, Dr. Basu will talk with you about your concerns and ensure that you’re a good candidate for the procedure. Please note that to be considered as a candidate for chin augmentation surgery, you must have a BMI of 40 or less. Chin implants will add volume to your chin, but won’t address a double chin or fix sagging skin in your neck. Dr. Basu may recommend a double chin treatment or a neck lift if you’re concerned about excess skin or fat in your chin and neck.

Your Chin Augmentation Procedure
Chin implant surgery is a relatively quick procedure and can be performed with local anesthesia and sedation. During your surgery, Dr. Basu will make an incision in the underside of your chin or inside your mouth where the gum meets the lip. The incision will be completely hidden or difficult to distinguish in either place. Dr. Basu then carefully stretches your tissue to make room for the chin implant to sit flush against your jawbone. A solid silicone implant that has been specifically selected to best meet your goals is inserted and the incision is stitched shut.
Your Recovery & Results
Dr. Basu will give you detailed instructions to follow during your chin augmentation recovery. Most men experience some swelling and bruising in the first few days and return to work 3 to 5 days after their chin implant procedure. Dr. Basu may recommend that you avoid exercise and strenuous lifting for at least a week, possibly longer. You also won’t be able to shave your chin for about 14 days. It can take 2 to 4 months for your chin augmentation to completely heal.
You should see an immediate change in your facial profile following chin augmentation surgery, although your final results may be initially disguised by some degree of swelling.
