Chin Augmentation Houston, TX

Your chin contributes to both your jawline and profile, as well as the overall proportion and balance of your facial features. If there is disproportion, a chin too small or recessed, a chin augmentation may be a consideration. Chin augmentation surgery is a rewarding procedure alone, having a dramatic impact on your overall appearance. It may also be combined with other facial plastic procedures to improve symmetry and the overall results.

Contact us online or call or text our office today at (713) 799-2278 to schedule a consultation at Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, conveniently located in Houston and Cypress.

WHY CONSIDER CHIN AUGMENTATION?

If you are concerned about the appearance of your chin or wish you had a stronger profile, a chin augmentation may be an ideal consideration. A proportionate chin significantly enhances your appearance by better defining your jawline and creating symmetry, or balance of your facial features. Chin implants are available in many shapes and sizes, allowing the surgeon to complement every variety of patient chin anatomies.  Both men and women appreciate the results that are possible with silicone implants designed to address a “weak” or receding chin.

How Much Does a Chin Implant Cost in Houston?

The cost of chin augmentation in Houston varies depending on the plastic surgeon and practice. Your total costs will include facility fees, the cost of anesthesia and all pre-op and post-op appointments. At Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of plastic surgery financing options to make your procedure as affordable as possible.

Your Chin Augmentation Options

During your consultation, we will talk with you about your concerns and help ensure that you’re a good candidate for the procedure. Chin implants add shape and structure, but do not correct a double chin or fix sagging skin in your neck.  We may recommend other procedures such as a double chin treatment or a neck lift, or combination that will ultimately result in the outcome you desire.

Other chin augmentation options and related procedures

Chin implants are often ideal for correcting a recessed or “weak chin” appearance; however, your surgeon may recommend a different procedure to achieve the chin augmentation results you are looking for. We can refine your chin and neck areas with these procedures:

  • Fat grafting or fat transfer involves removing fat from another part of your body, processing it, and then injecting it into your chin to add volume and reshape the chin.
  • FaceTite uses radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) technology for facial contouring and skin tightening. A small probe that emits radiofrequency (RF) energy heats the underlying layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production and melt fat cells for a smoother, firmer appearance.

Liposuction involves making a small incision and using a thin, hollow tube called a cannula to break up and suction out fat cells to create definition between your jawline and submental area (chin lipo).

Your Chin Augmentation Surgery

During your surgery, your surgeon will make an incision inside your mouth where the gum meets the lip, or, in some cases, on the underside of your chin. The incision will be completely hidden or difficult to distinguish in either place. They carefully stretch your tissue to make room for the chin implant to sit flush against your jawbone. The implant is made of solid silicone and has been specifically selected to best fit your facial structure and ideal profile.

Your Recovery & Results After Chin Implants

We will give you detailed instructions to follow during your chin augmentation recovery. Recovery timelines are unique to each patient and their surgical plan; however, most patients experience some swelling and bruising in the first few days and return to work within 3 to 5 days after their chin implant procedure. Your surgeon may recommend that you avoid exercise and strenuous lifting for at least a week, possibly longer. You also won’t be able to shave your chin for about 14 days. It can take 2 to 4 months for your chin augmentation to completely heal.

You should see an immediate change in your facial profile following chin augmentation surgery, although your final result takes place over the next few months after healing and all swelling is diminished.

Are there non-surgical chin augmentation options?

Yes, we offer a number of minimally-invasive options to improve your chin’s appearance without the need for surgery. Keep in mind your results will not be as transformative and will likely be temporary when choosing chin implant alternatives:

  • Dermal fillers can be injected directly into the chin to help reshape and resize it. The results are temporary and last between six months and two years depending on the type of filler used and how quickly your body breaks down the filler.
  • Botox can also be used in the chin area to relax muscles and smooth out a pebbled or dimpled chin, thus temporarily enhancing its appearance. You’ll need to maintain your results with regular touch-up injections every 3-4 months.
  • Kybella is an injectable treatment that specifically targets and destroys fat cells under the chin, preventing these cells from storing or accumulating fat in the future. Slimming the submental area can enhance the overall chin profile.
  • CoolSculpting freezes and destroys fat cells that are absorbed and eliminated through natural processes. Submental CoolSculpting can eliminate fat deposits for more defined jawline and neck contours. These results are long-lasting but CoolSculpting cannot prevent new fat cells from collecting under your chin.

Your surgeon may recommend a combination of treatments to achieve optimal rejuvenating effects.
