Brazilian Butt Lift Houston

Houston Chronicle's Best of the Best 2022 Winner
2022 Best of the Best Plastic Surgeon in Houston

Some people have buttocks that lack shape or sag due to aging, weight loss or simply genetics. Dr. Bob Basu performs his Houston butt augmentation, also called a Brazilian butt lift, using fat transfer to reshape the buttocks, creating a fuller, rounder contour. He also refines the overall shape of the hips, back and thighs for enhanced results.

Board-certified Houston Plastic Surgeon Dr. Bob Basu specializes in body contouring procedures, including the Brazilian butt lift or BBL. His caring bedside manner and extensive experience performing a range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures make him one of the top surgeons for buttock enhancement in the area.

Why Consider a Brazilian Butt Lift?

People who would like to enhance the shape of the buttocks or who are unhappy with the way their bottom looks in clothing may be good candidates for a Brazilian butt lift (BBL). Some of the most common reasons our patients consider getting a BBL include:

  • Buttocks that are saggy or lacking shape
  • Weight fluctuations or age have caused a deflated appearance of the buttocks
  • To attain a more prominent posterior while also slimming down another part of the body

Because the procedure involves using the patient’s own fat to enhance the buttocks, an individual must have an adequate amount of fat to harvest from the hips, thighs, back or abdomen to achieve their desired results. However, to be considered as a candidate for Brazilian butt lift surgery, you must have a BMI of 30 or less. In addition, very thin people might not be good candidates for a Brazilian butt lift.

It’s common to have a Brazilian butt lift as part of a mommy makeover or to enhance the results of liposuction or a tummy tuck for a more comprehensive approach to body contouring.

How Much Does a Brazilian Butt Lift Cost in Houston?

The cost of your Houston Brazilian butt lift will depend upon the amount of fat collected and the procedural approach that Dr. Basu uses during your surgery, as well as whether additional procedures are performed at the same time. Total charges will include facility fees, anesthesia-related costs and your pre-op and post-op appointments.

At Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery, we offer frequent special promotions for a range of cosmetic procedures. We also offer plastic surgery financing options to help make your Brazilian butt lift even more affordable.

Your Brazilian Butt Lift Options

If you’ve made the decision to have a Brazilian butt lift, you’ll have to consider your options for the procedure.

The donor site is the location on your body from which Dr. Basu will harvest fat cells via liposuction to transfer to your buttocks. Most people choose the hips, love handles or thighs as their donor spot, as fat cells in these regions tend to transfer well and many people would like to appear slightly slimmer in these areas. However, some people have another problem spot they would like Dr. Basu to use as their donor site. You can talk with Dr. Basu about whether your area of concern can be used as your donor site.

You will also have to decide how you would like your buttocks enhanced. Some people would like more projection while others may be more interested in a rounder shape. Whatever your preferences, Dr. Basu can help you determine the best approach.

Your Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery

During your personal consultation, Dr. Basu will explain the details of the procedure and help you gain a realistic idea of how your Houston butt augmentation might give you the results you desire. Together, you will decide the best approach to achieve those results.

A Brazilian butt lift is a two-step procedure. First, Dr. Basu performs liposuction of the donor site. Next, he purifies the fat and re-injects it into specific areas of the buttocks. By redistributing your own fat, Dr. Basu can improve the overall aesthetic of the entire buttock region, creating a more pleasing shape while slimming the profile of the hips and thighs.

Because some of the injected fat will be absorbed by the body as you heal, Dr. Basu may initially inject a larger amount of fat to compensate. Your final silhouette should look and feel completely natural and proportional to the rest of your body.

Your Recovery & Results

Dr. Basu performs buttock augmentation surgery as an outpatient procedure using general anesthesia. The procedure usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Following surgery, you will experience some soreness and swelling in the donor areas where Dr. Basu performed liposuction, as well as in the buttock region. Dr. Basu can prescribe medication to help alleviate these symptoms. You should avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for several days after surgery. Most people can return to full activities within 2 to 4 weeks.

Skinny BBL Houston

Dr. Basu offers a “skinny” BBL for his Houston patients with a BMI of less than 25 who lack significant body fat. During a skinny BBL, Dr. Basu harvests fat from multiple areas of the body as efficiently as possible, then strategically injects it throughout the bottom and hips until a full, shapely backside is achieved.

Will I have enough fat for a skinny BBL?

Even most thin patients have enough fat stored throughout their bodies to safely undergo (and benefit from) BBL surgery; additionally, beautiful BBL results are far more dependent on a plastic surgeon’s fat transfer technique than the volume of fat that can be harvested.

Dr. Basu also performs “composite” buttock augmentation in which he inserts a small surgical implant into the buttock along with a patient’s available fat, accentuating one’s curves and camouflaging the implant.

Skinny BBL
Dr. Basu was able to harvest fat from this patient’s upper thighs, hips, flanks, and back to enhance her buttocks and fill in her “hip dips.”

Where is fat harvested from during a skinny BBL?

During a skinny BBL, Dr. Basu will first take fat from places where most women store a little extra: the abdomen, flanks, and lower back. If more fat is needed, he will harvest it from one or more of the following areas:

  • Arms (bat wings)
  • Bra line
  • Upper back
  • Inner thighs
  • Torso

To achieve the “snatched” waist most BBL patients desire, Dr. Basu will perform liposuction on the lower abdomen, lower back, and just above the hips to reveal the waistline. Not only does a snatched waist make the bottom appear larger and rounder, but it is essential to creating a sexy hourglass figure.

Where is fat injected during a skinny BBL?

Fat is often injected into the upper/outer sides of the buttocks to “fill out” the region, giving it a curvier, rounder shape and increasing its lift and projection. If you have “hip dips”—shallow indentations where your femurs enter your pelvis—Dr. Basu can fill these in with fat to create a smooth, hourglass shape.

What if my BMI is above 30?

Achieve your ideal body weight prior to surgery for a safer procedure with the best possible results.

In the past, we would request that patients achieve their ideal weight prior to surgery and come back to Basu Aesthetics once they have done so. This has changed thanks to new advancements in the Semaglutide and Tirezepatide family of medications that have recently become available for patients. We now offer The Skinny Shot semaglutide treatment as part of our comprehensive approach for our patients. The Skinny Shot can help you achieve your ideal body weight prior to surgery for the best possible aesthetic result. In addition, it has been shown that patients with a lower BMI undergoing plastic surgery have a lower risk of complications. Treatment with The Skinny Shot not only improves your results, but it may also make your surgery safer.
