Removing fluids from drains post-surgery is a vital step in post-operative care. Drainage tubes consist of silastic tubes that allow fluid to drain from the surgical wound site. The fluids are collected in a closed sterile collection system.

Susan, BSN, RN demonstrates all the steps that are needed to properly remove fluids from drains. This video serves as a guide for our patients who have just had surgery and need a little guidance to ensure their fluids are draining correctly.
